Living in the moment – easier said than done right?
I get you. I spent so many years constantly living my life on autopilot. I was always waiting for the weekend, and when the weekend comes, instead of actually using that time to relax and enjoy, I spend most of it worrying about Monday coming and having to start my work week all over again. I would constantly worry about the stress that another Work week would bring instead ofactually making the most out of the weekend – exhuasting, right?
It was like I was stuck in this never-ending cycle of waiting instead of actually living.
I’ve spent so many days worrying about the future, ruminating about the past, instead of actually taking the time to notice the good things that are happening to me right in front of me.
And let me tell you, living that kind of life was exhausting. Not only was it keeping me from enjoying the good things that are happening but it was also keeping me stuck. I realized that by doing that I was also just pretending to be happy.
Learning to live in the present moment is freeing. It empowers us to enjoy the little things, to notice how beautiful life is, to enjoy every moment of our lives, and let go of negativity– that right there is a gift.
